Purchased 1993 by Gerard Perse for $9,000,000, 1st winery purchase by Perse. Major renovations. Entire 32 hectare vineyard drained to limit a rise in the water table during prolonged wet spells. Complete rebuild of the wine making facilities and an entirely new aging cellar. 
Vineyard: 70% Merlot, 20% CF and 10% CS. The vine density is 5,500 vines per hectare and average vine age is 40 years. Terroir: sand, clay and gravel is not the best in St. Emilion. Gets the most out of it with low yields to increase concentration and improve quality. 2009: 28 hectoliters per hectare. 
Vini in small, temp controlled stainless steel vats and French oak tanks. MLF in barrel. Aged in 60% new French oak barrels for 20 months. 6,000 cases are produced annually.
